He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel A. Slade, Sr. and Mahalia Davis Slade; his sister Lucy Slade Dixon; his son Daniel III; and his daughter-in-law Renee.
He is survived by: his daughter Barbara Slade Simpson (Curtis); his wife Louvenia Credle; his sons, Calvin (Deatrice) and Gary; and his sisters, Lorraine Gardner and Lilly Ruth Credle (Ralph). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 28 great grand children, 1 great great grandchild with a host of near relatives, church family and friends.
