He is survived by: his children, Curtis Edmund Rakes Jr. (Susanne), Michael Steven Rakes (Valerie), Christopher Marshall Rakes and Taralyn Warren Rowe (Eric); his sister Sandra Rakes Midkiff; and his grandchildren, Shawn Rakes, Steven Rakes, David Cooper, Michaela Cooper, Bethany Cooper, Madilyn Rowe and Emily Rowe.
