He was predeceased by: his father Frank Powell; his brother Joe Frank Powell; and his grandson Zachary Powell. He is survived by: his family Charles; his wife Vera Taylor Powell; and his children, Charles J. Powell (Kathy), Jacqueline Powell Smith, Edward "Dee" Powell (Lynne) and Sedric "Keith" Powell (Carla). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
