It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Calvin W. Pearson Sr. (Hampton, Virginia), born in Newport News, Virginia, who passed away on September 2, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Clarence W. Pearson; his brother Kenneth; his wife Evelyn; his sons, Calvin Jr. and Brian; his siblings, Clarence Sr. (Connie), David (Elaine), George (Gale) and Claudia Wooden; and his aunt Margaret Tynes.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Willie C. Jones, Jr., Calvin L. Jones and Brenda J. Johnson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Participation with the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation as a board member, and many years as a member of the Hampton University Boosters Club consumed much of his spare time.
