He was predeceased by: his parents, Emett Spencer Smith and Jennie Maguire Smith; his brothers, Jim Smith and Bill Smith; his son Edward Smith; and his grandson Shawn Ferrell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Smith; his children, Ruth Johnston (Roger) and Robert Smith Jr. (Judy); his daughter-in-law Barbara Smith; his grandchildren, Hayley Smith, Matthew Smith and Casey Wygans (Phil); and his great grandchildren, Finn and Aubrey Wygans.
