He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Farnett and Mary Ann Babich. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Farnett of Hampton; his son Stephen Farnett (Amanda) of St Leonard, MD; his goddaughters, Cheryl Bare (Ryan) and Caitlin Bailey (Daniel); and his grandson Aiden.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to Phoebus United Methodist Church.
