She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“Such heartbreaking news to hear of Susan's passing. Her mother was my first cousin and back in the mid '70s Susan's Mom and Dad kindly allowed me to stay with them in Alexandria while I hunted for my first job right out of college. So I only knew the Harris sisters as young girls but even then I could see that both of them would leave their marks on humanity and each other. It was truly inspiring to see how sisterly they were.
