He is survived by: his wife Frances Williams; his stepdaughters, Karen Settle, Leslie Lowry (Donald) and Lora Mullen (John); his stepgrandchildren, Marshall Lowry, Michelle Washington (Todd), Lauren Deavers (Daniel), Leah Ward (Nathaniel) and Lindsey Mullen; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Makenzie Washington, Loralei Deavers, Cane Washington and Cash Washington; his brother Gene Payne (Nancy); his son Michael Read (Kim); his grandsons, Kenny Read and Colin Read; his siblings, Aileen Woodson, Bernice Ellis, Dennis Payne, Walter Payne, William Payne, Tom Payne and Larry Payne; and his stepgreat-grandson Chance Washington.
