He was predeceased by: his parents, William D. Mills, Sr. and Louise Kent Chappell Mills; his wife Mattie Sue Cole Mills; his grandson Scott Mills; and his brothers, Dale Mills and Barry Thomas Mills.
He is survived by: his children, Wanda Mills Anderson (Jimmy), W. D. Mills, III and Warren Rydel Mills (Bonnie); his grandchildren, Melissa Puryear (Stacy), Kari Conner (Dick), Jamie Lindley (Eugene), Jennifer Mills, Brandon Mills (Wendy), Nichole Wyatt (Wesley), Joshua Mills and Brianna East Fifteen (Jacob); and his siblings, Kent Mills (Crystal), Bert Mills (Ann), Ann Marie Spangler and Bonnie Shotwell (Ray). He is also survived by Fifteen Great-Grandchildren.
