She was predeceased by: her parents, George Coleman and Marie Traynaham Coleman; her son Abdul-Razzaq Mahoud; her brothers, Joseph, Ronald and George Coleman; and her grandson Ji'tu Garrett.

She is survived by: her son Kevin Garret (Kathy) of South Carolina; and her siblings, Curtis Wilborne of New Haven, CT, Grace Epps of New Haven, CT and Laura Coleman of Seattle Washington. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
