He is survived by: his wife Mary Vicks Smith; his children, Michael Smith of Florence, SC and Scarlett Moore (B. J.) of Chesapeake, VA; his siblings, Nancy S. Haskins (Charles) of Halifax, VA, Doris Tuck of Roxboro, NC, Howard Smith of Roxboro, NC and Richard Smith (Becky) of South Boston; his grandchildren, Madison Taylor Smith, Morgan Brooke Smith, Olivia Sage Moore and Blake Wylder Moore; his sister-in-law Louise Smith (Tamara Seamster Smith); and his children, Madison and Morgan.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home (115 Main St, South Boston, VA 24592). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at the Oak Ridge Cemetery (128 Meadow Dr, South Boston, VA 24592).
