She was predeceased by: her parents, Major Louie F. and Stella Shoemaker; and her husband Herbert Allen Barnes. She is survived by: her mother-in-law Lottie Barnes; her siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Carpenter (Wayne) of Virginia Beach and John William Barnes Sr. of Coles Point; and her nieces and nephews, Deborah Cordell, John "Hap" Barnes, Jr., Lisa Neunlist and Doug Carpenter.
