It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeanne Straughan of Hague, Virginia, born in Danville, Virginia, who passed away on August 17, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband George Mitchell Straughan; her parents, Odell Groff Barbour and William Stanford Barbour; her brother-in-law Dr. John W. Gregory of Tappahannock, VA; and also Fabio Diminich of London, UK..
She is survived by: her sister Betty Gregory of Tappahannock; her daughters, Nancy S. Austin (Thom) of Warsaw, Anne M. Straughan (David) of Manakin-Sabot and Mary Katherine Kienzle (Trevor) of Orinda, CA; her grandchildren, Kate Austin, Laura Viccellio (John), Mitchell Austin (Rachel), Matt, Emily and Nate Kienzle; her great grandchildren, Luca, Elena, Georgina Diminich, John, Thomas, Anne Viccellio and Bowen Austin; her nephew Woodfin G. Straughan (Sue); and her nieces, Patricia S. Douglas, Paige G. Garrett (John) and Blair G. Blanks.
She celebrated her 80th birthday with her family at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, and before the pandemic started, she celebrated her 90th birthday at the Boar's Head Resort in Charlottesville.
