He was predeceased by: his parents, John Homer and Annie Pauline Hopson (White); his wife Shirley Faye Hopson (Smith); his son Tony Eugene Hopson Jr.; and his siblings, Arnold Hopson, Bobby Hopson (Tommie Ann), Dewey Hopson, David Hopson and Moby Hopson Stiltner.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tonya Faye Hopson Workman (Lyndal "Beryl") of Wytheville, VA and Arena Lynn Hopson Jones (Thomas Stuart) of Wytheville, VA; his grandchildren, Thomas Eugene Jones, Shirley "Paige" Jones, Sydney Grace Jones and Connor Dorian Workman; his siblings, John Curtis Hopson and Barbara Baldwin; his nephew Ricky Lee Hopson (James Bryant Hopson); and his niece Jennifer Denise Hopson.
