Rodney B. Shortt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney B. Shortt (Grundy, Virginia), born in Richlands, Virginia, who passed away on February 17, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold B. Shortt and Frances Lorene Breedlove Page; his stepfather Billy C. Page; his siblings, Wayne Shortt, Hope Shortt Shortridge, Karen Shortt and Janet Shortt Ratliff; and his grandparents, Mildren, Lexie Lowe Breedlove, Tom and Bertha Palmer Shortt.
He is survived by: his sons, Dylan James Shortt (Reagan Annlee) and Lukas Ryan Shortt (Melody Brown); his brother Dale Shortt; his brothers-in-law, Belfred Shortridge (Joyce) and Jim Ratliff; his stepmother Charlene Shortt; his half-siblings, Mickey Shortt (Jennifer), Rick Shortt, Tami Mitchell, Vicki Hearl and Rita Stacy; and his stepchildren, Julia and Ryan Jackson.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Saturday, after 6:00 p.m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m. It was Rodney's wishes that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Buchanan County Historical Society or The Buchanan County Museum Fund, at PO Box 471, Vansant, VA 24656.
