It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paul Samuel Layne of Grundy, Virginia, born in Buchanan, Virginia, who passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Russell and Della Pearl Layne (Duty); and his siblings, Iris McNeil, Blanche Brewster, Russell Layne and Bill Layne.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Samuel Layne Jr. (Sherri) of Roanoke, VA and Paula Layne Davis of Honaker, VA; his grandchildren, Kayla Varney Burress (Joe), Brianna Kay Davis Rowe (Jason), Brittany Layne and Paul John DeVilla; his brothers, Larry Layne (Brenda), Ronnie Layne (Patricia) and Keith Layne (Karen); and his nephew Ronnie Steven Layne (Carol). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
