He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Matney, Sr. and Elsie Branham Matney; his wife Juanita McCoy Matney; his son Larry Matney; and his siblings, Thelma Hensley, Acie Matney, Johnny Matney, Dewey "Fats" Matney and Estil Matney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lisha Breeding (Donnie) of Grundy, VA and Christine Burks (Richard) of Abingdon, VA; his siblings, Virgie Whitt, Shirley McCoy of Hurley, VA, Ronnie Matney (Dreama) of Michigan, Darrell Matney (Vera) of Michigan, Kenny Matney (Diane) of Michigan and Alford Matney (Vickie) of Blountville, TN.; his grandchildren, Kristie Leonard (Bryan), Jason Breeding (Kacie), Cayla Epling (Cody) and Kristen Burks; and his great grandchildren, Jakob Breeding, Savannah Breeding, Julianna Breeding and Cayden Epling. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
