He was predeceased by: his wife Exie Holt Brummitt; his mother Ruth Brummitt; and his siblings, Georgia Laster, Mary Ada Laster and Willie Brummitt.
He is survived by: his son Allen Brummitt; his sisters, Sammy K. Smith (Carl) and Irene "Totsy" Fassam (Charlie); and his nieces, Janie Weems (Phil), Lisa Smith (Eddie) and Maura Weems. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and several special friends.
