Beulah May Matney Obituary

BEULAH MAY (NICKELS) MATNEY, 72 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY. Born in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Dawson) Nickels. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of the Little Prater Church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a home health aid.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delford Matney; Daughter: Susan Matney; Son: Steven Matney; Grandson: Tyler Rowe; Brother: Gene Nickels.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Trish (Chris) Rowe of Abingdon, VA, Regina (Eddie) Sparks of Boones Mill, VA, Carol Belcher of Pikeville, KY; Brother: Monroe Nickels; Sisters: Margaret Looney, Helen Rasnick and Freida Colley; Grandchildren: Andrew Sparks, Tiffany and husband Zach Hiles, Ethan and wife Keisha Stiltner, Caleb Matney, Chris Hopkins, Seth Pruitt and Eric Cederia; Great-Grandchildren: Ryder, Evan, Ella, Nova and Paisley.

Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Saturday at 4:00 P.M.

Funeral Services for BEULAH MAY (NICKELS). MATNEY will be conducted Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Rife officiating with cremation to follow.
