He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Carter and Pauline Edith Martin Carter. He is survived by: his children, Alice Ross of Charlottesville, VA, Ramona Fleenor-Carter (Allen Fleenor) of Bristol, VA, Vanessa Craven of Highpoint, NC, Tammy Shrader (Tony) of Grundy, VA, Lindsay Carter of Charlottesville, VA, Fred Stiltner (Christina) of Russell Prater, VA and Ronnie Carter (Heather) of Grundy, VA.. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home (1021 Six And Twenty Mile Br Rd, Grundy, VA 24614). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
