The memory of Welty Preston Craun of Grottoes, Virginia, who passed away on January 17, 2025 at the age of 89, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Craun and Virginia Craun (Wood); his former wife Martha Wease Craun; his son Richard Stewart Craun; his grandson John Phillip Armentrout; his sister Helen Beckwith; and his son-in-law Greg Messenger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Phyllis Armentrout (Tim), Susan Messenger and Linda Lugar (Jeff). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral and Cremation Service (201 Dogwood Ave, Grottoes, VA 24441). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Edgewood Cemetery (201 Dogwood Ave, Grottoes, VA 24441).
