He was predeceased by: his parents, Ysabel Mejia and Edna Mejia (Munroe); and his siblings, Dana and Karen Engebretson. He is survived by: his children, John Jr. of Florida, Brian, Ben of Massachusetts, Matthew (Dayna) of Pennsylvania and Ashley (Brandon Penn) of Pennsylvania; his sibling Lauren Bell (Wilbert Jr.) of Arizona; his grandchildren, Brena, Mary, Abby, Madison, Xander, Isabella, Colton and Arya; his cousin Rose Stevens; and his aunts and uncles, Joyce, Phyllis, Patty, Juan Jr. and Paul.
