It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Franklin Oscar Brooks of Grottoes, Virginia, born in Charlottesville, Virginia, who passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Brooks Sr. and Lillian Christine Brooks; his former wife Lueresia Carol Brooks; and his brother Charles Douglas Brooks, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Brooks; his children, Tosha, Caleb Brooks of Grottoes, Jarrett and Derek Brooks of Richmond; his grandchildren, Tyler Critzer, Malanah Lopez Brooks and Milo Lopez Brooks; his brother John William Brooks Jr.; his pet Tilly Mae; and his cousins, Alice Woods and Annie Toles. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Augusta Regional SPCA of Staunton.

He loved fishing and he used to talk about fishing with dad (Albert Samuel Williams, his uncle). Now he is suffering no more and pain free. And he has touched so many with his kindness and love of life and his belief in GOD. He is now at peace. May GOD bless you all. Praying for all. Miss you Cousin Sonny.”
