He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Shifflett and Clara Shifflett (Higgs); his wife Kathy Shifflett (Kaylor); his daughter Jeanette Shifflett; and his brother Gary M. Shifflett.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Shifflett (Suzanne) of Grottoes, Doug Shifflett Jr. (Renee) of Staunton and Tim Nicely (Becky) of Grottoes; his grandchildren, Aaron, Nicole, Dylan, Dalton and Austin (Nikki); his great grandchild Karsyn; and his siblings, Dennis Shifflett (Lou Ann) and Dinah Balderson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grottoes Fire Department and/or the Grottoes Rescue Squad.
