He was predeceased by: his parents, George Calvin Mayhew and Myrtle Shelton Mayhew; his siblings, Lanier Mayhew, Hazel Rowland, Barbara Bowler and Marge Younger; and his grandson Joshua Mayhew.
He is survived by: his children, Bryan Mayhew (Tiffani) of Gretna and Marie Mayhew of Gretna; his brother Reed Mayhew of Gretna; his girlfriend Wanda Amos of Gretna; his granddaughter Jaime Fielder (Brock Allen) of Gretna; his great grandchildren, Emma Lynn Fielder and Laura Jane Fielder; and the mother of his children Peggy Cook Mayhew of Gretna.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Gretna Fire and Rescue.
