She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard VanDeVyvere and Clara VanDeVyvere (Kurzweil); her husband Carroll Simpson; her sons, Mark, Kenny and Stephen Simpson; and her sisters, Catherine Reutter, Anna Mildred Schaffer and Rosie Jo Burns.
She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Baker (Clark) of Nashville, TN, Dianna Lavoie (Allan) of Gretna, Jeff Simpson (Dale) of Gretna and Deacon Chris Simpson (Sue Ellen) of Watertown, TN; and her siblings, John VanDeVyvere (Mary Ann) of Kansas City, MO and Margaret Gouger of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Inc. (307 Main St, Gretna, VA 24557). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Victoria Catholic Church (305 Victoria Dr, Hurt, VA 24563).
