He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Rose and Mary Jane Bentley Rose; his daughters, Melissa Bannister, Margaret Arrowwood and Katherine Jewell; and his siblings, Owens Rose, Paul Rose, Earl Rose, Billy Rose, Arnold Rose, Cordedia Sowards, Arlenia Pilkenton, Geraldine Hylton, Mallie Mae Tibbs and Maggie Balthis.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Rose; his sons, Melvin Hoar (Marcy) of Florida, William Jewell of Spotsylvania, Willie Jewell of Spotsylvania, Woodrow Jewell of Monroe and Robbie Rose of South Carolina; his sister Phillis Slone (Emil) of Pound; and his half-brothers, Michael Rose of Pound and Jeffery Rose of California. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
