With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary Rose of Gretna, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Everett Hoar and Helen Cowden Hoar; her husband Robert "Coon Hunter" Rose; and her daughters, Melissa Banister, Margaret Arrowwood and Katherine Gay Jewell.
She is survived by: her sons, Melvin Hoar (Marcy) of Florida, William Jewell of Spotsylvania, Willie Jewell of Spotsylvania and Woodrow Jewell of Madison Heights; and her grandchildren, Melvin Hoar, Jr., Timothy Hoar, Brenda Hoar, Robert Rose, Jr., Mary Elkins, Rebecca Keith, Crystal Lumpkin, Jessica Byies, Tiffany Little, Jonathan Banister, Amy Marshall and Beth Marshall. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
