She was predeceased by: her parents, Dallas Sanders Chappell and Claribell Badger Chappell; and her grandson Jason Knowles. She is survived by: her husband Clyde Roosevelt Mayhew; and her children, Bruce Mayhew (Zoe) of Gretna, Tim Knowles (Jackie) of Gretna, Anthony Knowles of Mount Airy, NC, Ken Knowles of Newport News, Ron Knowles of Yorktown, Chris Mayhew of New Mexico, Cindy Marrs of New Mexico and Shari Mayhew of New Mexico. She is also survived by six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
