James Taswell Blackstock Obituary

We are sad to announce that on July 13, 2022, at the age of 76, James Taswell Blackstock of Gretna, Virginia, born in Clover, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Louis Blackstock and Essie Seamster Blackstock. He is survived by: his wife Marie Hopkins Blackstock; his children, Carrie Karnes (Chris) of Wilmington, NC, Amanda Compton (Jason) of Martinsville, VA and Richard Louis Blackstock of Danville, VA; his grandchildren, Kirsten Compton and Christopher Karnes; and his sisters, Joan Blackstock McCormick and Vickie Blackstock Witt. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his honor to The Wounded Warrior Project.
