It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James M. Farthing of Gretna, Virginia, who passed away on March 31, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie B. Farthing and Mary Short Farthing; and his siblings, J. B. Farthing, Ray Farthing and Nellie Jane McDaniel.
He is survived by: his wife Pattie Motley Farthing; his sisters, Kathleen Merchant of Danville, VA and Jean Yates of Carrollton, GA.; his sister-in-law Brenda G. Motley; and his nieces, Tonda Wade and Michelle Motley. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and sister and brother in-laws.
