He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wesley Martin and Frankie Jones Martin; his wife Sue Hendricks Martin; his sisters, Ruth Taylor and Dora Martin; his grandson James Kirby; his great grandchild Layton Grafton; and his son-in-law Bobby Rutherford.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Rutherford of Danville, Deborah Williams (Sam) of Bedford, Donna Dalton (Tony) of Ringgold, Annette Kirby of Altavista and Laura Saunders (Anthony) of Gretna; his sisters, Dolores Simpson of Gretna, Charlotte Hastings (Jerry) of Chatham and Melba Dalton of Gretna; and his nephew Troy Simpson (Sandy) of Chatham. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
