It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Carter McCoy of Gretna, Virginia, born in Franklin, Virginia, who passed away on October 23, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Garrett Hilton Carter and Edna Foster Carter; her husband James Arthur McCoy; her siblings, Helen Reynolds, Ruby Blackwell, Cecil Carter and Edward Carter; and her son Edward Anthony.
She is survived by: her siblings, Barbara Kern of Waynesboro, Lucy Carter of Martinsville, Katherine Arrington (Richard) of Bassett and Wilson Carter (Doris) of Forest; her grandchildren, Dawn Anthony of Gretna and Christopher Anthony of Stevensville; and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Covarrubias, Nadia Covarrubias and Anthony Martin.
