It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anne E. Witcher Martin of Gretna, Virginia, who passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lemon Witcher and Ida Reynolds Witcher; her husband John Martin; and her siblings, Mae Berger, Louise Waller, Joe, Curtis and Larry Witcher.
She is survived by: her children, Bishop Nadine Giggetts of Chatham, Sarah Younger (Wayne) of Gretna, Rachel Walker (Robert) of Hurdle Mills, John R. Martin of Martinsville, Wilbert Martin of Danville, Thomas Martin of Gretna and Michael Martin (Valerie) of Pennsylvania; her grandson Junior Giggetts of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and her sisters, Evangelist Alice White of Pittsville, Peggy Anderson of Pittsville, Vickie Caesar of Pittsville, Lizzie Berger of Gretna and Evangelist Betty Berger of Eden. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.
