She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Reed and Loretto Miller Reed; her husband Edward Hamilton Cowan, Jr.; her sons, John Patrick Brownlow, Thomas J. Brownlow III and William G. Brownlow; and her sisters, Rebecca Paape and Mia Foy.
She is survived by: her daughters, Stacy Magner (Carl Barbour) of Altavista and Christen Metzger (David Mays); and her stepchildren, Victoria Eby (Jeff) of Stafford and Michael Cowan (April) of Hurt. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
