She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Norman Barksdale and Carrie Vester Bullington Barksdale; her husband Calvin Preston Stephens, Sr.; and her siblings, Hazel Warden, Mary Gunter, Clarence Barksdale, Harry Barksdale, Paul Barksdale and Fred Barksdale.
She is survived by: her children, Katherine S. Carlton (Michael) of Roanoke, Joan S. Turbyfill (David) of Danville and Calvin P. Stephens, Jr. (Susan) of Danville; her grandchildren, Joshua Carlton (Andrea) of Cary, NC, Jennifer C. Roberson (Clay) of High Springs, FL and Jeremy Stephens (Corrina) of Nashville, TN; and her great grandchildren, Dima of Cary, NC, Eva of Cary, NC, Krystina of Cary, NC, Jack of Cary, NC, Danya of Cary, NC and Calvin Carlton of Cary, NC. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
