He was predeceased by: his parents, George Barton and Mary Barton; his wife Rebecca O. Barton; his daughters, Peggy Nassef, Christina Barton and Karita Reese; and his grandson Herbert Shawn Chenault.
He is survived by: his children, Johnny Taylor of Keysville, Dennis Barton of Keysville, Ted Barton of Green Bay, Malissa Barton (Kyle Fowler) of Keysville and Denise Faircloth (Bud Faircloth) of Meherrin; and his sister Anna Allen of Keysville. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
