He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward and Agnes Marker Childress; and his sister Ida Scott. He is survived by: his siblings, Sarah "Jenny" Hudson (Edward) of Drakes Branch, VA, Mable Glasscock (Charles) of Amelia, VA and Charlie Childress (Dorothy) of Green Bay, VA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
