He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Jacob and Effie Kearns of Virginia; and his sister Judith Mae Groves. He is survived by: his children, Janet Michele (Ralph) and Jerry Wesley; his wife Betty Cockerill; his grandchildren, Jonathan Scherer (Christy) and Jennifer Scherer; and his great grandchildren, Philipp, Eva, Matthias, Jerusha, Jael, Nathanael and Charles Scherer. He is also survived by daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

He missed going to church very much during Covid and was looking forward to going back.
