He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ronald and Emily Cornelia Armstrong Hooton. He is survived by: his son John E. Hooton (Amy Brown); his granddaughter Edith; his sister Kay White (Michael); and his close friends, Justin Garrett and Jennifer.

Charlie, his cat, gave him great comfort and devotion during Covid isolation and during his cancer treatment.
