He is survived by: his children, James "Butch" Carter (Cindy), Gloria Carter, Johnnie Carter and Angela McIntosh; and his siblings, Frances Carter, Leroy Carter (Margaret), Christine McMackin, James Carter-Tinsley, Tanza Laverne Carter, Lester of Washington, Willie of Washington and Mary Carter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
