He was predeceased by: his father Charles Franklin Bolden; his stepfather Tom Dickerson; and his sisters, Susan B. Walker and Shirley D. Johnson. He is survived by: his mother Doretha Taylor Dickerson of Gordonsville; his goddaughter Alsace T. Dickerson of Charlotte, NC; his brother-in-law Clarence Junior Johnson of Gordonsville; and his brothers, Charles E. Bolden (Peggy) of Unionville, Frank A. Dickerson (Wilhimenia) of Gordonsville and Thomas Christopher Dickerson of Gordonsville.
