He was predeceased by: his parents, Warner H. Wheeler and Minnie Zola Creasy Wheeler; and his brothers, Lynwood H. "Jack" Wheeler, James A. Wheeler and Douglas.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy St. Clair Wheeler; his children, Bruce M. Wheeler and Regina W. Shrewsbury (Michael Shrewsbury); his siblings, Kenneth H. Wheeler, Sr. (Arlene), Dorothy W. Ragland and Wanda W. Graham (Vincent); his sister-in-law Shirley W. Wheeler; his grandchildren, Sarah Shrewsbury, Jamie Wheeler, Jordin Wheeler and Jeremy Shrewsbury (Jessica); and his great grandchildren, Jaxson Hicks, Maverick Wheeler, Parker Gravely, Jack Shrewsbury and Bralyn Fink. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
