She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Mary Earle Hoxton Mackall and William Whann Mackall; her husband John L. McElroy Jr. "Jack"; her children, John L. McElroy III, Mary Earle McElroy (Walter), Sorrel M. King (Tony) and Margaret M. Rietano (Tom); her sister Mary Earle "Mimi" Dozier; and her grandchildren, Lee, Peyton, Gracie McElroy, Stokes (Abby), Andrew Robertson, Jack, Relly, Eva, Sam King, Ben, Sheila, Marlee, Mac Rietano and Josie King.
Post pandemic she was looking forward to visiting Sheltering Arms Institute patients with her "certified" therapy dog, her beloved "Bertie".
