He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Omer Guy and Eloise O'Brein Burnett; and his sister Jean Marie Dutton. He is survived by: his wife Melva Jean Franklin; his daughter Lynn Burnett Sylvia; his grandchildren, Joseph "Jeb" and Marley Sylvia; and his great grandchild Jaxson.

A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church (6470 Main St, Gloucester, VA 23061).
