He was predeceased by: his parents, James Chester Shelton Sr. and Myrtle Catherine Fisher; his wife Carolyn Shelton; and his brothers, Robert William "Bobby" Shelton and Hoy McKinley "Mac" Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his son Keith Shelton (Lisa); his granddaughters, Jennifer Rowe (Ashley) and Jessica Shelton; his great grandchildren, Riley Shelton Rowe and Tanner Dean Rowe; his sister Nancy Lerch (Rick); and his sisters-in-law, Pat Minarik and Ruth Adams. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
