Herbert Hamilton Thrift Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Herbert Hamilton Thrift of Gloucester, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 2, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wives, Pearl Thrift and Janet Campbell-Thrift; his daughter Tammy Trammell; and his stepdaughter Karen Jones. He is survived by: his sons, Herbert "Doc" Hamilton Thrift, Jr. and Keith Thrift (Becky); his stepchildren, Vicki Painter and Rob Campbell; and his grandchildren, Keith Thrift, Jr. (Kayla), Sara Thrift, Kelly Trammell and Krystal Trammell-Blymer. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren, along with many great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church (3727 Buena Vista Rd, Shacklefords, VA 23156). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gloucester Youth Little League, PO Bos 2046, Gloucester, VA 23061.
