She is survived by: her grandson Charles Kerns, Jr. (Gail) of Gloucester; her children, Deborah Kerns-Anderson (Sean) of Gloucester, Vernon Kerns, Ill (Vernon IV) of Mathews, Norma Jean Kerns Edwards (Bruce) of White Stone and John Kerns of Gloucester; and her siblings, Gwendolyn Thrift of Georgia and James T. Wharton, Jr. of Florida.
