David G. Kemp Obituary
We bid farewell to David G. Kemp of Gloucester, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 6, 2025 at the age of 83. David touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though David may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those David touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Kemp and Blanche Gruber Kemp. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Exler Kemp; his children, Colin Garrett Kemp (Hope Rinehimer) and Dr. Catherine Jarrett Kemp (Ben Jarrett); his grandchildren, Asher Kemp Jarrett and Blythe Kemp Jarrett; and his sister Barbara Kemp.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hogg Funeral Home (3098 George Washington Memorial Hwy, Hayes, VA 23072). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Church of St. Therese (6262 Main St, Gloucester, VA 23061).
Memorial contributions to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic in memory of Dr. Kemp.
