It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William Hasty (Gloucester Point, Virginia), born in Asheboro, North Carolina, who passed away on August 21, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma H. Carter and Edward H. Carter; and his sister Martha C. Brill. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Deborah H. Rhodes (Donald), Robin M. Hasty, Kelly H. Kale (Wilford) and Blair E. Hasty (Lisa); his grandchildren, Lori R. Packard (Lauren), Derrick Rhodes, Camron Hasty (Brooke), Joshua Hasty, McKenzie Hasty, Carson Hasty, Walker Kale, Carter Kale and Anne-Evan Williams (Jeremiah); and his great grandchildren, Audrey Phillips, Franklin Williams, Jaxon Hasty, Jack Ereio and Casey Ereio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Subsequently, he received the first national "Pharmacists of the Year Award," given by the Pharmacists Against Drug Abuse Foundation.
